Already did that. Magic already worked just was thinking 14 year old bike but hay if not broke don't fix it.

IMHO...

Wait until the old one blows up, you trash it or are so sick of it you don't ride it anymore, then buy. Meanwhile keep the cash for when you need it or pay off more mortgage!

As for riding around the track, I had a similar dilemma. Newer bike = better but older = less financial risk. What made it easy for me is I'm a rubbish rider, so anything really new would be a waste as I'd never get to the point I'd notice any difference, I love zipping around on my K5. If I bought a new GSXR I'd be more worried about dropping it.

Never buy new unless money is of no real concern which it is as it's on finance.

Save your money, buy a house, rent it out, repeat every 5 years.
