Don't forget that West bay is still being dug up.Apparently a couple of the traffic wardens are jobsworths and are ticketing bikes that are parked where they shouldn't be . ( like in small gaps in car parks etc)
Thank's Scorcher

Kata wrote: May 19th, '19, 14:02 Have you thought of doing the coast road Weymouth to Bridport? Lovely view and road.
And mostly 50mph limit!
And????

Don't forget that West bay is still being dug up.Apparently a couple of the traffic wardens are jobsworths and are ticketing bikes that are parked where they shouldn't be . ( like in small gaps in car parts arks etc)
We were there yesterday and Chicky parked amongst a line of bikes on double yellows to the right of the shacks beside the dug-up bike park. While we were in the Windy Corner café the parking hyena turned up, prompting a scramble by all the nearby owners to shift their bikes, with just Chicky’s remaining, despite the efforts of one top chap to call Helmet City to tell us, so she got a ticket  Mine was parked on the pavement and the hyena was telling people to put their bikes there and it became jammed, so any wheelchair users or parents with pushchairs had to use the road, and that’s all right according to the hyena? Designated bike parking is currently on the east pier, but as there are no signs to identify that I’ll tell y’all that it’s the left side of the harbour as you look at the sea.
The coast road is awesome, the perfect SuperDuke road. The A35 was really busy yesterday so I exited at Winterbourne Abbas and cut down to Portesham. Earlier in the day is better as the car drivers’ brains get cooked in the sun and they’re then incapable of doing more than 30mph along that road later on. The 50 limit is merely advisory....

I might be able to make this one but have to be back for a pub cricket match in the afternoon so could try and meet you at airfield and ride to Westbay and a direct route back.

It is Phil :D played in the field next to the pub.
More difficult than normal cricket as fielding with a beer in hand is compulsory!

Some (many ? ) years ago, a charity cricket match was organised between my skittle team and a couple of 4th team cricketers from Imperial against Blagdon C.C.

Blagdon supplied a barrel of cider on tressles + plasic cups all free for the duration. Didn't do the cricket much good. :-\

Att'n Pebble and all on this rideout to West Bay.

There are at least two other biker groups heading for West Bay on Sunday. One is Rosie's Children's Hospice Charity Ride, leaving from Somerton with 50 bikes plus expected to attend, and one potentialy V' large in numbers - being this one: https://www.bridportnews.co.uk/news/175 ... s-weekend/ . . . . . this lot are expected at WB around 1030 hrs - I can't speak for Rosie's lot and their eta, only that I'm told it's an a.m. meet in Somerton.

Bearing in mind what's been posted above re' parking etc. . . . . . . . . . . . it might be fun if we all ganged up on the parking Nazis, two or three hundred bikers telling 'em where to get off would send a message.

Or we could all go somewhere else.
