A lighter helmet built to the same standard as a heavier helmet will be inherently safer due to the lower mass involved in rotational forces. Also if a rider is less fatigued because of a lighter helmet they are less likely to be involved in an incident when that helmet could be put to the test.

Of course, if you're perfect you will never have an "incident" so you won't need a helmet at all :mrgreen:

I like this.... luckily so far..... not had a knock with my helmet since it was bought in December 2021

I've had my X-Lite 903 Ultra Carbon for about 3 years now? For a full carbon helmet they're not particularly light at around 1600g, but build quality and comfort is pretty good and the internal liner height adjustment is a neat trick :-bd

If you hunt around, they can be found for as little as £225 now :80:

Yep, my c/f X-lite is definitely heavier than my old c/f Bell.
