Right then, bit ahead of time but I have collected a fewc25litre containers already for fuel. Transport over empty with the bikes on the stillage then have fuel containers there to fuel up.
I can get enough for everyone but have 8 at the mo. If you want one, could you let me know and you can collect from me, as 8 of them do take up space and guessing we'll need a few more unless folks have saved theirs from previous years.
Ping me a message if wanting one.

i got a bit of a bollocking on the last trip over as they classed them as fuel containers for te return trip.
driver said we needed to arrange with him for them to be taken over for some reason.
or they don't get declared on the carnet and then left in a dumpster in portimao town?

Ok can explain this one, Time to put my work hat on........ The moment that you have a fuel container that has been used (even once) then this becomes a dangerous goods classification under ADR (Road Regulations) It is the drivers responsibility to know everything on his load in the case of an emergency and be able to hand to the emergency services detailed descriptions as this changes they way they would tackle things such as a fire. The moment you go through the channel tunnel or on a boat then it jumps up to sea regulation (IMDG) and this gets even more strict and the vehicle can be stopped from boarding as the captain of the boat has to approve what is taken onboard.
Just not worth it........
If we are that desperate then go to the local fuel station when we get there and buy a few 5ltr jerry cans and fill them up.

but.........if the containers that nick gets us are taken over having only had water in and are listed as water containers or not listed at all, we could leave them there.

With all due respect, someone saw you coming

absolutely no way is anyone going to pay 45 euros to rent a plastic 20ltr tub, there would be uproar and the forums would have gone into meltdown, I was there in 2019 and I think we paid 10euros....begrudgingly

It did come full of fuel, didn't pay it though. They weren't offering empty containers for rent on the Last trip.
We just took the water containers that Nick kindly got us.things may have settled down now as the whole carnet thing was new and people were just learning it.
