just have to add, that when I had a bike with a pillion seat, Z1100r and Z1300, I didn't like taking a bloke on the back, would rather go on the back myself and let him ride, partly because of the weight and height issue, although not an issue on the 1300 to be honest, but it just never felt right...(all the feminists are going to lynch me now )

i completely agree Billi, there s no way i'm taking my fella on the back of my bike, i'm very petite and 5ft 7" he is a rather large 6ft 3". would not be very easy

so where do you keeps these guy's balls if you have a pillion seat and not the space under the seat cowl

I've enjoyed taking people on the back but only do it occasionally. It makes for a completely different ride. My OH used to be a regular pillion but since we've had a kid she won't do it for safety reasons (both getting killed or something??).

My older son often comes on the back, although he's become a little more nervous in the last year or so.

First time my mate (bloke) came on the back coincided with my first ever wheely! Not too long after passing my test, either. That was a sharp lesson learnt about weight distribution.

I think the key is to remember that the person didn't get on the back to be scared and is unlikely to return to the back if they are. So no point showing off. Just a regular, safe, ride will be more than enough for someone who is unused to bikes.

My latest acquisition has a cowl instead of a pillion seat, which might curtail pillion riding. But that's good because I want to get very used to the bike before taking anyone else on it. Have spotted them on ebay going for literally pence though!
