Thats better

Be intersting to see that vid with another bike adjacent as a comparison (say a Cagiva Mito or an Aprilia SXV550)

It wasn't leaning over far before large lumps of metal were close to the ground

but I can't beleive people would pay the required amount of money based on performance - you just don't buy a Harley on those criteria. I'm not knocking Harley's per se, just the in-grained self belief that they are the best in the world thanks to the marketing men. It's the same as the Rolls Royce argument for cars ... it's dependant on the criteria against which the vehicle is being judged.

been there, done that, in some places I'd rather not remember (e.g. hard shoulder of Mulsanne straight & Whiddon Down roundabout

You are free to make your own choices, and have your own opinion, just as we are ours

Is it only me thats see's the irony that a thread you started asking for peoples opinions, has caused you to make that decision when the opinions given did not match yours

I don't think you buy a Harley for its performance well I certainly didn't. I have been on the head down go like fu(k
road always ended up with a neck ache bad back and could do know more than 100 miles at a hit.
For What a Harley does and remember they are mainly for the American market they do it well. The price for one over there is a lot different. Blame our Taxes

If I wanted to do 1000 mile trip down the road I know which bike I would prefer. The Harley Road king does what it says on the can

My custom is not fast compared to the modern sports bike you probably could pass me in 3rd when I am flat out 110 but hey I do not need to go any faster
it will do 250 at one hit with out refueling but mind you I do have a hard ass hahahahah.
At the end of the day its what you want in your ride me I like to chill sit back and enjoy whats around me if I ride in a pack its even better and your lady on the bike can also lean back and relax

shit some of the girls I know will quite happily have a sleep on along run
I have a hetic working week so its what I need chill time

oohh i see festers on his pmt week again
cant say you'll be missed to much, why start a thread with your opinions then get all arsey when people put theirs. yes its mainly a sportsbike site but thats due to the fact most of us ride performance bikes so you'll always get a biased answer
for me the top 5 would be
ducati - 916/s4r
honda - nr750/rc30
aprilia - rs250
suzuki - rg500/gsxrk5
kawasaki - zx7rr
just a few examples and i apologise if theirs too much plastic on the list

All depends on your riding style.
If you wanna go fast, then you buy an r1.
You wanna cruise along you buy a fatboy.
I can appreciate cruisers, harleys ect. But personaly I would rather have a jap clone. For price, build quality and performance.
For what they are they are seriously overpriced though, and as for having soul. IMO they only have soul if they are customs. You can't have a completly stock bike and say its your own, makes no difference, cruiser/sportsbike ect.
But for you to leave just because of people having different opinions to your is a bit sad, obviously this forum is going to be biased due to the vast majority owning sportsbikes.
Out of interest Music, what would your 5 be?

that bottom bikes a CCM..cant remember the model thats the road version of it, they also do it in flat track trim with no lights or front brakes and hardened suspension, its got a DR 400 engine in it on low gearing, I have rode (and crashed

) one of those. Awesome fun- get yourself on one of CCM's flat track days to have a laugh on one
