I agree it does seem a bit like the police officer was enjoying the chance to speed and get away with it for as long as possible. Rather then just collecting evidence.

And has anyone thought that maybe Collins was ridding faster then normal as he thought he had a bike trying to race him as he did not know it was a police bike.

I'm not saying that this gives him the right to hit speed that he did in such restricted areas but it makes me question if it is his normal way of riding and not where the chase got the better of him.

One other thing I noticed is that the officer on the bike reached over 130mph. I was allways under the impression that the police needed to get permission of a high commanding officer before exceeding 130mph. but that might just be me getting things wrong again. :)

I think it's just been somthing that I've heard when whatching those police camra action programes and they have had to do it. but was not sure if it was a law thing or maybe just down to an individule persuit or somthing.

Bit slow on the uptake there mate.

It seems to be the general concensus within enlightened circles that this is exactly what the Police officer was hoping for.

Let's face it.

How many of us can say hand on heart that we haven't done something completely out of character when we think someone is throwing down the gauntlet.

If you're on a sports bike and you see someone behind you on a Pan who thinks he's going to show you a clean pair of heels, well then let's be honest, for most of us it'd be game on.

very good apart from the copper was on a new Blade.
Its questionable as to whether it was out of character for the rider as the whole operation was set up to catch him because of numerous complaints from members of the public

Could there be an element of entrapment there? Sit on his tail on an obvious sports bike and see if he takes the bait, almost goad him into upping the pace - let's be honest, how many of us wouldn't rise to a bait at any time?
