Update appearing shortly folks so keep watching this topic; meanwhile a volunteer needed for the highly esteemed position of TEC. We're deffo going to need one for where I'm planning to take you. As before, I'll pm the route to whoever wins the fight for position of valiant rearguard, thanks in advance - you lucky person!
I'm calling this one the 'Four Counties Rideout' - I'll leave all you MENSA candidates to work out why . . . . . ..

Is this going to be sealed roads only or will there be a touch of green laning thrown in for fun?
My bike is
VERY clean at the moment, so I'm sure you'll understand my concern.
On Friday, a guy at a filling station ask me if my bike was new.
I know it's a long way off yet but I just dared to look at the weather report... and I can feel that cold coming back.

Well you've proved you can clean it once so you'll know what to do on the 15th.

Jug, you know me too well . . . .
No, no (intentional) green laning this time unless one of you lot indulges in a bike-hedge interface session and we have to haul you out.
The route will be around 230 miles of lovely black tarmac, the finest the four counties can manage - except for the pot-holes they're also very good at.
Thanks for the offer of TEC Brian, got a Hi-viz for the occasion? The Bell Tent that fits me will add too much wind drag and slow you up - and do you want me to pm you the route?
For the rest of you, outline details for the 14th to follow . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..

Right folks, here's an
update on the Four Counties Rideout on Sunday :
PART 1.
Leave Honiton Tesco Filling Station at
0830 hrs SHARP (they open for fuel at 0700 hrs) - Address: Battishorne Way, Honiton EX14 2XD -
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Tes ... -3.2028236
Brunch stop, approx' 1100 hrs: Mere, Wiltshire BA12 6FE -
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Hil ... d-2.288652
PART 2.
Finish Honiton Garage EX14 2XD at approx' 1600 hrs for de-brief/fuel/coffee/tall stories etc. etc -
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Hon ... -3.2064778
Notes:
Sundays rideout is weather dependant. If it's looking dodgy I will make a provisional decision on Saturday around 2100 hrs and a final call on Sunday morning at 0630hrs - here on this topic, so if you're in any doubt, keep checking in.
The full route is approx' 235 miles and consists of (a) plenty of good B roads, (b) a small amount of rural roads (no green lanes/farm tracks, honest!) and (c) a small amount of A road - nothing boring. Pace will be 'making progress' but sensible; no heroics please, my old Fut will complain if forced to work too hard.
We will be using the tried, tested and fully approved 'drop off' system; it worked well on the Dirty Dozen jaunt so let's do it again - he of the Ptolymex pursuasion will be TEC/Sweeper-upper/collector of 'interesting' lines through corners anecdotes - - - - thanks in advance Brian.
Fuel and coffee stops/leg stretches etc. could be any or all of the following, as required: Gillingham - 95 miles.
Willoughby Hedge - 115 miles. Barford St Martin - 125 miles. Langport - 200 miles. Honiton Garage 235 miles. There are other filling stations and watering holes of course, if needed.
That's it fellahs, see you around 0815 hrs on Sunday.
p.s. No problem with any last-minute riders, just turn up, there's no numbers limit on this one - the more the merrier; just copy & paste and add your name to the list . . . . . . ..
