Hi

You need a 10w-40 for both bikes, I'd go for a full synthetic for as the GSXR gets track use and then either a full or semi synthetic for road use.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-782-10w-40.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The best oils there are the Silkolene Pro 4 and Comp 4, Motul 300v, Redline, Amsoil, Shell Advance Ultra 4 and Castrol Power 1 Racing. The Motul 5100, Castrol Power 1, Shell Advance VSX and Silkolene Super 4 are good cheaper alternatives.

Here is the Honda filter

And this one for the GSXR

Hey oilman,
After some guidance if possible,
Got a pair of z750's 2012's (road bikes) and a 08 zx6r (track) which after engine oils and brake fluids,

Always been a fan of the motul rbf600 but don't know what you can supply.
Will all need oil changes and will hope to change brake fluids also this winter.
Many thanks

Hi

I would use a 10w-40 for all of those.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-782-10w-40.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The best oils there are the Silkolene Pro 4 and Comp 4, Motul 300v, Red Line, Amsoil, Shell Advance Ultra 4 and Castrol Power 1 Racing. The Motul 5100, Castrol Power 1, Shell Advance VSX and Silkolene Super 4 are good cheaper alternatives.

The best fluids for the brakes and clutch are the Castrol SRF, Motul RBF660 and Gulf RF1000. The Motul RBF600, Gulf RF800, Millers 300 Plus and Fuchs Pro Race are close to those, but don't have quite as high boiling points. The next step down (in performance terms), but still an upgrade over standard are the Gulf Racing 5.1, Motul DOT 5.1 and Castrol React Performance. Any of the other DOT4 fluids we have are fine to use as a standard choice.

Hi Mr O'Man.
Here's mine ...........:
2001 Aprilia RST 1000 Futura
42,000 miles
Engine: Rotax V twin 996cc
Mod's: Just a K & N air filter and a 1 tooth smaller gearbox sprocket.
Road use only but looking at occasional track days in the future.
Engine temp': Runs at 172 deg F.

I've used Silkolene Comp 4 15W-50 semi-synth' for years with no prob's, but with the miles now piling on, is there a more suitable (and affordable) alternative?
Cheers.

Hi

As it needs a 15w-50, we don't have any options that are a good enough saving over the Comp 4 to realistically justify going for a cheaper oil, you're only going to save about £3 and the Comp 4 is really good stuff, so I'd stay with that.
