Sorry I should have also added that there will be an extra charge to cover fuel for over 20 miles and a price of a valet may increase slightly if your car is really dirty, either in or out (eg dog hair,). I would tell you this after seeing your car but before I start work. Also I cannot accept any resposibility for subsequent mechanical and electrical problems if you have your engine cleaned. :D

Is the bike not a bit errr I dunno, its not really cleaning if you replace the engine, downpipes, remove a front nose cone and respray the swingarm is it? I mean if you have found a way to take the stone chips off the front of the engine and sort out heavily corroded engine cases without any replacement parts, then I for one am majorly impressed as no product, T cut, Autosol or anything can do that. Perhaps you should push the valeting business aside and get into restoration?

The only thing that was replaced on that ER-5 was a few fastenings and the rear wheel (the other had a warpped drum). I basicly rubbed down the corrosion (TIP use a wire wheel in a drill or die ginder to get the worst of first) and reprayed it :D

I took the nose cone thing off cos it was the wrong colour and looked poo.

I have done bikes a lot worse :D

Ah ok that figures then, think at £7.50 an hour if your prepared to rub down engines and stuff then your way way under selling yourself. Id do POA with a £10 ph for the valeting, most of the people who ride bikes only ride 3days a year and love to have sparkling machines. Its good business for you but I cant believe how lazy people are regarding washing, sure mines caked in dirt, but it gets used 365 days a year, isnt much point when the roads from yeovil to wincanton are usually covered in farm mud and cow sh*t, and Im not trying to impress anyone at a gathering, I ride because I want to, not cos I want to be dubbed a biker or look cool cos I have a bike. Thats just terribly sad and seems to be a favourite of old men in there mid life crisis stage, I mean, who the hell goes out and does there CBT and then a week later their full test and then gets a Hayabusa or thousand, ever noticed that? Middle aged guys cant have a normal bike for a first one, its gotta be a thou, isnt the young riders that bump up insurance premiums and increase the death toll of riders, its the damn idiots who jump straight on a thou with no previous riding experience and then wrap it round a lamp post, fling it over at a roundabout or just park it into the boot of a car. Then its those people that end up putting down the kids on 125cc bikes on forums for wanting a little more ooomff out of their bike. Theres always that favourite phrase, "if you want more power, buy a bigger bike!" anyone who says that rubbish is clearly a moron, in the hands of an experienced rider any bike is fast enough. I chased 600's back when I rode a RS125 theyd loose me on straights and then take corners at 40 in a national. Ive been riding a 600 for 3years this october and Ive slayne tonnes of thous with there born again bikers on, christ who gets these ideas that bigger bikes mean your more skilled and faster?

Sorry, got a bit carried away, Ill probably get flamed now! Unless anyone else agrees?

anyways....

For the sake of an hours labour with some crystal glo wash and polish you can have a lovely gleeming bike, and its enjoyable too! Seeing your scrubbing effort come back in the form of a pristine bike. I just dont get it, cars, sure Id have my car valetted by a profesional before I sold it (if I had one) but bikes, theres nothing you can do to a bike that gives you a bigger smile than cleaning it and then riding around blinding pedestrians with the super shinyness of it

Sorry to hear the news mike. I hope all goes well with you mate. I know a couple times I've been looking to have my bike valeted but there are few around that I would trust with a bike (had one before tell me they'd hose it with the jet washer). So will definately use you in the future mate.

Sucks that it is just coming up to the quiet season mate. Start cheap to get your base business up, blunderbus retailers and local websites too!

Another thing to consider ... will you charge different prices for different sized cars? For instance, I drive a little 2-seater convertible, I wouldn't be happy paying the same price as a 4x4 or an estate owner. Also - what about offering a T-cut option .. very handy for those with red cars!! (just about to do my bonnet ... didn't think it had been that sunny this year but it must've been!!!!)
my mind not only wanders ... sometimes it leaves completely

Sorry to hear about the job Mike, but think you have a cracking future as you have an eye for details from what i have seen. I also agree with the rest £7.50 per hour is to cheap, for bikes and you need to have a diffrent price for diffrent size cars with a sliding scale for how dirty they are.

I'll give you a shout for sure when our two bikes need a little loving :) with any luck i might have met you on a ride by then LOL

Nice job on the ER-5 Mike, hadn't looked at the start of the thread 'til now  . Was looking at the details etc, & was picturing the faults with mine... hmm, you're not too far from me.
