I tried but it's not looking too hopeful... they were willing to hult the process and discuss another approch but the words 'extra' and 'charges' were mentioned and I'm not looking to lose more money...

I think If I still want my Ninja back I'm gonna have to buy her back of the insurance company, I'll give them a call again tmw... see if we can get something sorted.

Most of the salvage is auctioned through 'Bluecycle'. If your insurance refuses to sell it to you and you want the bike back, let me know and I will keep an eye out for it. Then I can let you know if it shows up.
If they don't wanna play ball then I would really appreciate it if you would keep an eye out for me, I'll let you know how it goes.

Ask if they will settle on a 'cash in lieu of repairs'.
Alternatively, get 2 further estimates from dealers who think it is worth repairing, express to the dealer than you want the bike repaired & are prepared to have resprayed/repaired panels rather than new ones - it's your choice where it gets repaired.
At the end of the day, if the insurers can get the bike fixed for a lower price than what it will cost them to settle your write off they'll do it (just a case of economics for them really).

It's offical my beautiful blue Ninja is nomore...

They gave me good money in the end (3700 - excess= 3250) and said I can salvage any bits I fancy (alarm, hugger, lines, cowl .etc) nearly took the wheels but that would have been pushing it me thinks LOL 8) They said If I can also prove its worth more I can get a 'top-up' cheque, but they blanked any attempt to push for a fix...

Thanks for all the advice it really helped, and for the kind words!

Got a deposit down on an 'foxy' 07 Ninja now, I'll try and keep this one a little longer.
