i will pm you in the week Si, but it seems at that time of morning you are fairly restricted as to what garages are open. Problem is i can't get the firkin map to load, but going by what you said if you may have to do a little diversion,if you want to meet at a 24hr garage, around St Austell area ( Victoria/ Roach just off A30 is only option) or we can ditch the meeting at garage and just do a car park on route. like i say though will speak in week, unless someone else has any ideas :-\

Anything like a tescos or Morrison's etc that has 24 hr pay at pump will be fine. Doesn't need to have staff.

I know it's Cornwall but there must be some on that route :)):

Not really mate, most of the supermarkets have put the small garages out of business. I dont think theres a 24hr garage in St Austell anymore, most open at 6am i think, theres a couple of 24hrs out on the A30 at Roche or Fraddon or theres a shell in Truro

Is the petrol station by Maccie D's at Fraddon 24hrs? It's a bit further on but I think the petrol station on the Trispen (Truro junction) roundabout is 24hrs :-?

yes they are, both normally. Fraddon is having a refit at the mo but should be back by the time the run to the bun starts. Thing is they are off route as is Victoria/ Roach. I know there is a 24hr in truro. Probably easiest to say meet in St. Austell Tesco car park, there is a fuel station there as well but when i get the time i'll find out if they are 24hr on card or not. We can always meet there and then do a fuel stop further down. Otherwise depending on your fuelling needs, you can do a diversion from St Awful, up to Victoria 24hr on the A30 then rejoin the a390 via a couple of fun back roads. we could meet you there and show the way, but its up to Si really. I still can't get the route map to load on my netbook so if you either send me another link or just a quick description i can check where you are going and plan accordingly. Give me a ring if you want to discuss it Si.

don't they have 'pay at pump' deej ?

looking at the route and mileage etc. to go from st germans, down to lands end and then back up to the cafe, it's about 90 miles. am fairly sure even colins minimoto can do that on one tank. then by the time we leave the cafe normal garages should be open.

sound any better ?

they do but the st austell one has problems with natwest debit cards, plus im not sure theyre allowed to be open if un-manned ??

if your going st germans stop at the shell at trerulefoot and you should be ok to get lands end and back to the cafe and like you say you'll be good for the normal stations by then

You'll be OK a bit further West after St Austell.

Truro has pay at the pump at Trafalger Roundabout Shell (by the Police Station). Playing Place Shell is 24hours and pay at pump, both on route. Slightly off route (by 1/4 mile) Asda Penryn pay at pump and there's Helston Tesco but may have same issues as St Austell Tesco, bit of a shortage after then though.

Of these I'd suggest Playing Place (on Truro - Falmouth road) as Trafalger Roundabout requires a loop around roundabout plus leaving via exit or illegal u-turn, not a good idea considering location. From adding up the google mileage this is bang on 100 miles.

Colin, presume if you brim the tank whilst sat on it you'll get a couple more miles out of it? My KTM is 85 to reserve then 20 on reserve but did manage 125 total miles on A roads/motorway after patiently filling up as above.

Other option is A38 Glynn Valley to Bodmin where Asda's pay at the pump & perhaps A30 to Laddock Valley & then Truro, Falmouth - Simon if you want to discuss alternatives here then pm/call me.

If all fails, I can come out with a van full of jerry cans, could say £2 a litre but who know's what it'll cost by July.

Bugger, just spotted the date, Silverstone WSBK weekend, sorry I won't be around. (definately give me a call for route advice - knobblies anyone  )

Well. I'm happy to meet you at st. Austell Tesco car park and then you guys can stop where ever is convenient for fuel, cos i'll brim my tank Saturday evening anyway :D.

closer to the time if you give me an eta, I'll make sure i'm there ;) and i would imagine Monkey too B-)

Btw Colin, on the camping weekend Rich was raving about Tesco's momentum fuel, reckons it gives him an extra 30 miles on a tankful as well as improving low rev response. the xtra you pay supposedly gives you good miles for money so it works out similar anyway. Haven't tried it yet but Rich and Nick were both giving it a good report, might be worth a try in your tank for extra mileage ;)

Tesco's Momentum works a treat in the Bandit, I was only going onto reserve after 134 miles where as the week before I ran out at 126! Also in our rideout I thought after 100 miles I'll need some fuel as I'll be on reserve in a minute, turns out I had half a tank! I'm making a 8 miles detour in the wrong direction to fill up at Tescos from now on, plus I can use my card to save money for when it gets even more expensive. Bring on the fuel blockades again when it went to £1.10 a litre!
