I thought the same too, but on reflection its not looking wet until early/mid afternoon?

Plus, the TL is sorted and I don't mind that getting wet ;)

Are there only a few of us prepared to ride in slightly damp conditions
What weather forecasts are we looking at? Based on my inspection of the moss on the trees, state of the whortleberries and the behaviour of various birds I'd say we're ok in Devon until late in the afternoon/early evening when we'll have some light showers. Those light showers will be a bit earlier in Cornwall, starting around noon 8)

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weat ... 1435449600" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This shows light rain with 40% precipitation, wind blowing ENE so it should be pushing away all the time? I'm happy to go for it and see what occurs. I can always take more major routes for swifter, cleaner progress if the weather gets worse.

What say ye Smiler, you've got the longest ride time?

What part of Camborne are you in? I'm round the back of Tuckingmill so I can meet you for the ride up to St. Austell. I usually leave around 4.30/ 4.45 am.

Ok, listen up people.....

As per our usual British summer, its looking like we may have some rain at some point over the weekend

I know we are all able to check weather updates on our phones etc, but at the moment there is some uncertainty as to whether this will be earlier in the day or later into the afternoon.

Given that riders will be coming from some distance to get to Lands End, and lets face it, no one wants a soggy ride now huh? I think the best thing is to call this at say 7pm tomorrow evening?

I hope that's ok with everyone, it would be a shame to postpone it but I have to consider peoples safety and much as we'd all love to go, common sense should prevail.

Badger, I think if we do go ahead maybe a more direct route rather than your famous goat track options would be an idea???! :ymhug: Always grateful for your input mate x

Hi....

Its worth making a call tomorrow evening, on an updated forecast...

Saying there's a band of rain coast to coast from around 1PM... But when has the weather ever been right...

It is Glastonbury weekend, so it gotta rain some time... Tonight hopefully

I was chatting about this very subject earlier with Simon - and said much the same :)

Other than it would have suited me better if the decision was made a little earlier (4-5ish) as it would then allow me to do something else Saturday evening if the ride is cancelled (7pm would be too late) .........

The bike is still in pieces at the garage (Well it was when I left it), although hopefully I'll be picking it up (in one piece) tomorrow sometime.
However I'm a bit apprehensive about subjecting the bike to a "shake down" ride by attempting this.

I think I'll have to bow out. Sorry.
