MOT extension ends this month

I obviously live under a rock as I have only just found out that the COVID 6 month extension only applies to vehicles which were due upto the end of this month.
If yours is due on 1st August (or after) it's business as usual, no 6 month extension.
I did think it was suppose to run for a whole year but obviously not.. I wonder how many will be caught out by that.

Yes, it was supposed to last for 12mths, but motoring organisations such as AA & RAC raised concerns over the possible numbers of vehicles on the road untested, and with the recent pick-up in traffic (post lockdown) persuaded the government to end the scheme early.
No doubt there will be casualties. I have a vehicle who's MOT is due mid August .....

All motorcycles are taxed, insured & have MOT's to mid 2021
Barry's MOT is out in August, Stumpy having been done at the start of the year .......

Ye so basically if your MOT ran out between the 1st of April and the 31st of July this year you will have 6 months added on, which was lucky for me as 2 of mine ran out in June so extended until December. Cars still need to be road legal though, amount of people driving around with bold tyres etc has definitely got worse with the extension.
Anything before or after these dates are as per normal.

Put the wifes Zafira in for an MOT and and oil change a few weeks back. She kept saying to be that it was smelling funny. On the way to the garage I found out why the rear brake was binding.
Turns out the driver side was totally seized and had been for a while, she had killed the disk and the pads and needed a new calliper also the springs in the Suspention had gone on both sides at the rear.
After they changed it she said it’s no different what did they do that for.
