Ethanol Free Petrol

Apparently there is no requirement for super unleaded fuel in the UK to have Ethanol in it. With us moving from E5 spec 5% Ethanol to E10 spec 10% for standard unleaded fuels and all the problems that entails, water absorption, distortion of plastic tanks and degrading of pipes and rubber seals in the fuel systems of older bikes I found this interesting.
Esso Synergy Supreme +99 has zero Ethanol in it but only in certain parts of the country. Great if you live in Somerset, Wilshire etc. Not so good if you live in Devon and Cornwall.
Below is a snippet from the Esso website.
Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is actually ethanol free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area, Scotland and NW England). Legislation requires us to place these E5 labels on pumps that dispense unleaded petrol with ‘up to 5% ethanol’, including those that contain no ethanol, which is why we display them on our Synergy Supreme+ 99 pumps.
I'm certainly going to leave this in the tanks of my bikes when parked up for a long time.
