I'm surprised that the current Suzuki MotoGP effort has lasted to this season. They do not have the budget to stay in the Cinderella world. They can't even afford to develop any really new road bikes.

Well i see Dorna are getting Suzuki to honour there contract until the end of 2023???? Or i see a huge pay out from Suzuki to get out of the contract??

Got to say did not see this one coming.
Having left Moto GP as they were not competitive, and then building a bike that could complete
Coming back and then winning the championship
They seem to be on high with positive things always being said about the bike and how well that it steers in comparison to other bikes
Surly this must be pulling in more interest for the road and sport bikes based on the great results.
Don't get it why now. Why all then investment to then pull it once established.
Unless Suzuki are in real financial issues then really not making sense.

Compared with the other manufacturers in MotoGP, Suzuki are pretty small: Honda are massive and diverse, Yamaha similar, and both have much bigger shares of the bike market. Ducati are owned by VAG, Aprilia by Piaggio, and KTM are big in their own right and heavily backed by Red Bull.
The old adage of "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" is less true nowadays, especially as the sports bike market has shrunk dramatically recently, and the most obvious relevance to racing is less clear.
Bikes are a relatively small part of Kawasaki Heavy Industries' operation - ships, helicopters, big industrial plant etc are their breadwinners, and following the financial crash of 2008, they pulled the plug the following year as they couldn't justify spending millions to turn petrol into noise when their main priorities had a better use for the money.
Some have claimed that BMW "would love to get involved..." Really? Their only sports bike hasn't exactly set WSB or any domestic series alight, and there's no way that their money men would divert millions of € away from electric vehicle development into a technology that is fast approaching last orders.
I'd expect Suzuki to have to pay a penalty to exit early, and their grid slots to be taken by another satellite team running Aprilias now that they're competitive (hopefully not more Ducatis!). Some pundits are claiming that VR46 will take the satellite Yamahas, and the current runners will go for Ducati or Aprilia, plus maybe a new team to join. Sure, VR46 has history with Yamaha but only one guy can ride it properly at the moment, and the Ducati is a far more competitive bike so I can't see the VR46 boys being happy about going from the fastest bike on the grid to the slowest.
We shall see...
