Because i've had no car for 10 yrs or so I am having dfifficulty obtaining sensibly priced premiums. Also, my bike was stolen and I have to declare that. When I went from a car to a bike, I lost 9 yrs NCB, now going tothe way I've lost another 8 yrs NCB. Premiums are rediculous on anything other than a 3 cyl E.Asia sowing m/c. Also , even a Ford KA is prohibitive for both insurance and tax.

Yup, they have you either way.

It's a nightmare. I need to buy a car, pay lots for tax, lots for iinsurance plus residents parking fee. Adds a few percentile points to the chances of me ever getting back on a bike.

Or just get a small car.
Cheap to run.
No tax.
Easy to park.
Nobody wants to nick them.
