This was a really interesting watch and a great video. Who knew that one engine made in Germany was the basis for so many motorbike engines that made the motorbike what it is today

Agreed, an interesting video. I knew that the original 125cc Bantam existed because WW2 war reparations gifted BSA the original DKW design. But who knew that that same design also went to so many other manufacturers? Fortnine, obviously.

So in reality, the headline is wrong - the Italjet isn't the most important motorcycle (you've never heard of), but the DKW is (even if you have heard of them).

For the 2nd step in the cycle (geddit?) look at "stealing speed" by Matt Oxley :-bd
