Sunday 2nd March - Rideout.

Seems we're in for a decent spell of weather for a change :D :-bd so I've put together a rideout for this coming Sunday 2nd.

Here's the details:

Start: BP filling station off of junction 27 M5 - EX16 7HD.
Time: Leaving at 10.00 hrs prompt. Get there a tad earlier if you want but please be fully fuelled up ready for when we leave.
Finish: Bridge M/C's, Exeter.
Distance: 106 miles approx'.
Pace: As road conditions permit and nowt too strenuous, just 'making progress' will do :D .

Notes:
1. Coffee/cake etc. stop at Jonesy's in Winkleigh. Alternative is Woodleigh's Coaching House in Cheriton Bishop.
2. If road conditions dictate, I'll cut out the Witheridge to Eggesford bit and get to Winkleigh via South Molton, Umberleigh, A377 and B3220. In that case I'll cut out the Hatherleigh, Brandis Corner, Okehampton loop.
3. All this is weather dependant and I'll post confirmation either way Saturday mid-afternoon.

Here's the route,

Let you know when I see the details. And we avoid the soggy lanes!

Up for that. Sensible start (as I'm 40 mins away)?

No soggy lanes with grass in the middle this time - the grasstrack racing season doesn't start until around Easter.

Mrs H and I have friends staying over on the Saturday night. I will come if I can, depending on start time and whether I can slip away for a couple of hours without appearing too rude ;-)

The route is only short … Does it really need all three of those coffee/pee stops ???

If the weather is actually reasonabubble I'll be in. My recent experiences of weather forecasts any more than a couple of days before a date has not been good
Anyone wanting to extend the ride I'll happily take it on from Phil's finishing point.

I'm guessing it's just the one stop at jonesy's, the other two are likely just mouse dragging errors (or google maps being a tit).

Thanks to Brian, Steve and Dave for tagging along today, I enjoyed the company, although apologies are probably to Brian and Steve for the interminable banjo stories from Dave and me at Jonesy's :)): . The day went pretty well I thought, with very little traffic until we were nearly in Exeter.
It wasn't too balmy first thing but by 10.00 a.m. it was warming up nicely and the rest of the day just got better. For once Google Maps and I agreed on (a) The route and (b) The mileage :D . . . . . .. 106 miles start to finish - all of them dry. Sorry you missed it Alan, hope you and the MV get well soon.

I'll post a couple of pic's in the Rideout photo's section.
