Hello from Weston-super-Mare
Evening!
A fairly new rider here (passed in November) from Weston-super-Mare.
I’m not really a social media user, so just trying my best to find what’s going on and what I can get involved with. Unfortunately, not with much success.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

I’ve gone for a ‘16 Versys 650, it felt like a somewhat sensible starting option

Welcome to SWB, as you're a bit new to biking, why not look out for one of SWB's 'Friendly' rideouts. They're geared up to suit every level of biking experience or, if you're feeling a tad more confident, not to say adventurous, join one of our more standard rideouts - there's one coming up this coming Sunday, details here: https://www.southwestbikers.com/viewtopic.php?t=102474 . Whatever, have fun, ride safe and I hope we get to see you soon.

Thanks all!
I'll absolutely come along to some rides. I am not sure about this weekend, that's quite a distance to the start point - but I'll have a think about it!

Re: Hello from Weston-super-Mare
We're South West Bikers and we have arguably the best English biking roads south of the frozen north right here and a lot of our rides begin in East Devon, often the Wellington/Taunton area too. If you haven't experienced them, do your biking self a favour, join us for one and if you do and then don't think it was worth it I'll buy you a coffee

I guess you’re right, I’m just making excuses for avoiding sitting on the motorway for an hour
- I will try and make it.

Re: Hello from Weston-super-Mare
Cracking bike to start on, and vastly underrated.
Earlier models were a bit visually challenged but got better looking after the 1st update. Engine was the basis of TT winning Super Twins category, and I happily toured Switzerland on one 10 years ago. Nothing went wrong and I sold it for what I paid for it, which has never happened to me before or since
Welcome aboard
