Last night i decided id go for a little ride, it was raining so i was not very happy, started the bike and wheeled her back to be confronted with a clunk, i then thought to myself AWWWWW CRAP the disc lock, Im sure its happened to everyone at one stage in there biking lives,i decided that this problem was becoming an expensive mistake, i devised a way of preventing this misshap, Tie some sting around ur disc lock ensuring its long enough to reach from disc upto handle bar, when parking and locking, always tie the string to handle bar, in turn hopefully warning you of disc lock, If you want to be really creative why not colour code the string to your bike lol, i did

Jak's disclock has a dayglo yellow plastic cord attached by manufacturer. Does what you say.

The dayglo yellow plastic cords are easy to get hold of at any bike shops... I picked mine up at the same time I bought my disc lock..... for only a couple of quid...

On an old bike I had I forgot about the disk lock and went to ride off but was a bit hungover and ended up doing a bit of a burn out before I realised

especially annoying if you wheel the bike backwards with a disc lock on because it takes a big chunk out of your front mudgaurd.

I did that thing in the town center last week, with loads of people around. Turned it on looking all good. Pull off CLUNK, bike goes over its side. I was kinda pulling off and turning at the same time, you see.
What the ekk? Picked the bike back up, thinking eh? has the box seized or something?
Then though DUH you fool it’s the disk lock. Turned it off, and took the lock off. I didn't even turn round at any point to see who was looking. Must have been loads of people.
Lock off and chucked it in the back of the bike, briefly pretended to be really annoyed with the bike and then razzed off, (when it was all my fault, hehe)
At that point I realised I was lucky that my bike is not mint, otherwise I would really have been annoyed.
