Ive been thinking of starting on my suspension, and cant afford to change the whole front end so am going to fit Ohlins fork springs. Ive seen them from Harris for only £35 + vat!!!
Has anyone tried them or equivelant on their bikes and if so how much does the extra stiffness (10%) make?

No jokes about extra stiffness please

how much should the ? say? even progressive/hagon springs are usually 55 a pair so if you can get ohlins ones cheap then give it a go, nothing to lose...

i'd say go for it, for that price you've not much to lose. If you find that theyre oversprung for the dampening you can always experiment with heavier oil in if theres no damping adjustment. I dont know if anywhere local does rebuilding along the lines of Maxton, who are in the North West - the will respring and revalve the forks to suit rider weight and use etc, but thats gonna cost more anyway. Do they have the springs for other bikes at that price? if so have you a website addy for them?

But yer go for them progressive rate springs, along with a thicker oil (cos ur a fat git like me ) and the different to your riding will be huge, will be able to control the bike better and brake a bit quicker too

I need to do the same on the TL, but the fork seals don't need doing yet, when they do I'll get the Ohlins springs in there too

havent tried ohlins but have recently installed racetech fork springs and cartridge emulators in my sv650s. a massive improvement . a must if you have old style damper rod forks. you order your springs according to your weight and riding style. go on to http://www.racetech.com to find out which rate you need. can order parts from pdq in this country. www pdq1.com
not the cheapest at around £100 but come with tube to make preload spacers and very very good instructions including setting up your sag etc

mmmm.....i'd love an Ohlins rear shocker!!!

Hey,on that note - anyone know if ohlins did rear shockers for early CBR's???????????????
