Well as some of you know my RR went in for its 600 mile service and to get the braided hoses fitted. Well i picked her up and yes it was all done

, off i went, took a right hander at about 25mph and the rear stepped right out

, strange i thought and at the same time my right leg was well warm

, yup you guessed it no fooking oil cap!!! i was fooking furious

took the bike back and they sorted it for me, the manager said he will pay for a new pair of boots and jeans as these were covered, he also said i could take things further if i wanted too.........
what do you all reckon????

I reckon you are very lucky not to have come off and wrecked your new bike. New boots etc is just the start, I would try and push for a future freebie service or something...thats if you want them to touch your bike again. Makes me sick, if you had done your service yourself, you wouldnt have made the same mistakes, but would have invalidated the warranty.
Glad your OK and your new pride and joy is safe

I'd personally be pushing for more too, at least the next service, plus your clothes and boots etc.
Glad your ok though, we'll keep the back stepping out for tomorrow on the track ;)

Glad you didnt bin it mate. Get em to clean the bike properly, also a new rear tyre if it was oil soaked and a free service by their top mechanic.
[idiot]$, no wonder they come bottom in all the surveys.
Maybe you need to speak to Mike Grainger about the incident, dont bother with the numties.

You should definitely insist on a rear tyre and perhaps rear brake pads as they may have been contaminated; and then perhaps a small gift to cover your time and distress... pair of gloves, that sort of thing?

God GT's are useles!
I'd be pushing it as far as possible that could have been a very serious accident imagine if you went into that bend at like 60-70+ pretty sure you wouldnt be on!

Oil filler cap...!! idiots, you take it off, you fill it, you put it on... just like any other cap!! suprised they didnt leave the brake resesvoir cap off as well after they fitted your lines.. and lets hope they correctly torqued up the sump bolt... that could be nasty if it comes un-done.

When i took the bike back the first thing they checked was the sump bolt

, the mechanic who done my bike was sent home sick during the day

likely excuse!!

Lucky it wasnt the sump!
Everyone makes mistakes, but make sure you bleed them dry for it.
A bikeshop once forgot to tighten a mates caliper bolts up, He was going down a big hill with traffic lights at the bottom when the brakes on both sides came off... He didnt die so it was all gravy
