On Saturday, 22nd October, a unique opportunity is being offered to Sheene enthusiasts to get 'up close and personal' with his two Championship-winning Suzuki's currently on display in the National Motor Museum. The ACU, responsible for bringing the bikes back to the UK, has given consent for these unique machines - still in 'as-raced' condition - to be specially photographed, to raise funds towards their upkeep, in running condition.

The two Suzuki RG500 machines were ridden by Barry in his World Championship years of 1976 and 1977. The RG500s remained in Barry's possession after their triumphal Championship seasons and until this year, have been out of the country for 21 years, since Barry emigrated to Australia in 1984.

The day will include two photocalls, the first inside the Museum, prior to normal visitor opening hours, and the second outside on the main Arena, where the machines can be photographed in minute detail and from any angle - Museum staff will be on hand to manoeuvre the machines as required. There will also be a demonstration in the Arena by biking legend, Sammy Miller on Suzuki classic racers. Afterwards, there will be a further opportunity to visit the Motor Museum, followed by lunch in the Brabazon restaurant.
