yes I had heard similer.
What makes me read more into it is when I was phoning around to see who would give me the best deal on my new bike a couple months back - Bridges attitude was almost as if the sales guy didnt give a toss if he got the sale or not.
Made no effort what so ever to secure a sale which just struck me as odd at the time.

Hmmmm...that does seem odd considering this time of year is so
poor for bike sales,i would of thought dealers would be falling over
themselves to sell a new bike

I heard that all the staff were called to a meeting early December and told if things didn't pick (by/in) the New Year they could be closing..........
Thing is, for many years Bridge were really the only option for decent bikes in the area, but now with SP, DynoMap, Green Lane, MBT, BikeWorx, Speed, etc., there's more choice in the area than ever, let alone the march of GT alongside PGH in the Torbay area.
Add to that people like CMS who can do genuine spares for less than Bridge...........

Would be a damn shame if they close as they were (in my opinion) the best dealers in the south west for service and quality.

It would be a shame as its very convient to actually see which bike you want, although they are expensive for parts and servicing but then you have to pay for all those staff. the rest run on tight budgets as far as people go

Sad to see any business in trouble but to me they seem over staffed.
Every time I've been in there, there's always staff siting/standing around doing nothing. Nice work if you can get it.

The inflated price of bikes/parts/servicing has to pay all these wages.

The prob Bridge is that they have never had any competion locally to them so they were always able have this stuck up attitude and reputation.
Now there are more garages setting up close to them i think they have failed to adjust this stuck up approach and this will cost them business.
Saying that it will be a shame to see them go though

I won't miss 'em because i've never bought a bike/or took one for repairs there - i've only looked at all the nice shiny bikes

what would people consider the best dealer etc in the region?
i have bought bikes from Damerells and Bridge and the after sales / friendliness was far better with Damerells but they are proper buoys!
never bought a bike from GT as was warned off them by others but i hear their dyno guys are good.
be interested where people think the best tuners/perfomance garage is also as could do with some dyno time.
Ross.
