Damaged Downpipes

When I brought my current blade it was damaged. well still is on the bodywork! oh well.

I noticed the downpipes are starting to blow at the bottom bracket. I was just going to source someone whos got welder and get it bunged up.

I think now I will not bother. the two pipes going down on the left are almost flat (dented in). this I think would not help the performance of the bike true? which I think is not that good!

Does anyone know where I can get my dirty little hands on another set of pipes cheap second-hand or new. oh did I say cheap :D

mild understatement - flat dented downpipes will ruin the performance of your bike.

David Silver are offering new, pattern stainless downpipes for N to X models for just over £178
Unfortunately, the words "Blade parts" and "cheap" are rarely used in the same sentence...... :(

I have noticed cost for parts for this bike. I have also looked on the good old ebay but do not seem to be able to get the pipes for less than £200 inc p&p which is way to steap.

I suppose I will have to keep looking around for some poor crashed bike that is being broken.

thanks Guys

just bought 2nd hand original front pipework off e-bay for £40 + £20 courier for my 7R. well chuffed. If you can wait for the next 3/4 weeks just keep looking every day & something will come up. If you can't wait go breaker route.

I havnt had to buy anything yet. Ride one first befor you make that disission. There awsome (smile factor 20 out of 10) I love it. Not read anything bad about them. I think there prety reliable (can I stop now)(give us a job Bridge). Its the original hooligans bike. You get G force on tick over (no realy can I stop now)

I have never ridden one but yes it looks spot on. I love sports bikes but always fancied a streetfighter of sorts. the triple looks about right.

I must find somewhere I can take one out for a test ride. Don't get me wrong, I like the blade but its missing something, just can not put my finger on it. it may be down to the pipes restricting the power but its not far off my gsxr750 I had.

what year is your blade ? - there aint much difference in oomph between a blade and a 96 onwards gixxer 750 (unless of course your talking about a blade thats only a couple years old) , if its an older blade with dented downpipes Id expect it to feel considerably more sluggish than a decent gsxr 750.
