What's the point

First I hope I've got this in the right area.

A while back some of the population of this great country that is being f'cked up, signed a pitition to stop pay as-you-go road pricing. Yesterday I heard on the radio that the government are gonna do it anyway. Here's some of the downsides to this.

1) Because this will work by use of a box of tricks that tells your location, the government will know where we are all the time. It's Big Brother with a hard-on.

2) Because of (1) they'll be able to work out your speeds.

3) Who much is this gonna cost us the tax payers while schools and hospitals are in need of cash due to over crowding. And what's the bet we have to pay for the box in the first place and that it'll be passed onto us when we by new.

4) You can't even get a disc lock under the seat of most new bikes now so where is this box of tricks gonna go.

5) Even though they say it's for the environment how much of the money made will got towards it.

Thing is, if they are doing this because of polution and congestion why don't they ditch the road tax and up the fuel tax. That way the more fuel you use and the bigger the gas guzler ther more you pay.

The government have obvoiusly put a lot of money into this on-line pitition thingy but for what if they aren't gonna listen.

Rant over.................for now.

i doubt that even if over half the country signed a petition stapled to the prime ministers ass no one would read it. I don’t mind exactly the direction the country is going, could be alot worse. Not too happy with the slow erosion of our rights. If this pay as you go systems works as suggestion - by keeping exact tabs on where you and your vehicle are. I'm going to strap mine to a ferry and that way it will look like i haven’t used any roads :D and give the government the middle finger.

when the state infringes on your rights more than it protects them, it is no longer a legitimate authority. it certainly the road we appear to be on
