I was this close to trading my bike in for a new Gixer 750 today.

Been doing my home work the last week and trying to find a way to fund it without killing myself.

Believe you me i nearly did it today and would of been in the sh*t for a good few years. But just want one oh so bad. Was going to come with a R&G tail tidy. R&G crash bungs and one of those MOTOGP style exhausts when i find the maker of them. And of course finished in black just like AGES. Got it all planned out.

Even told her when i got home and she said well its your money.

Always tomorrow and the next day and the next. Just need to stay away from bike shops. Havn't even ridden one yet just love the look of it.

I can't fault the bike realy all I have found so far is that the rear shock needs to go to K tec to be sorted for track days !



Suzuki are doing 0% finance on the 750 as well.

Dont do it, there is nothing more common than a black gixxer 750..oh except an sp1

Was in the MCN bike mart last week I think !

personaly i thin they are [Censored] hedious, but they go well, and they are value for money, at the end of the day listen to the mrs,. your money. do what u want. if ur not finacialy ready for it mate then dont. wait till u can afford to. the bikes are ent going anywehre mate. they alwasy gonna be there. just think. i have the same problem as u. but i alwasy find im better off with out antoher bike. dont do it unless u can 100% afford it my son. u know it makes sense.

Up to you. It's a lot of money to make the repayments each month for something so easily wrecked ........ but to each their own.

I am fortunate that the bike is a "toy" ...... other than tax and insurance ((£150/yr for both) it costs me nothing for it to just sit in the garage. It has probably depreciated about £1200 in the five years I've had it, so call that another £250/yr. If I had to ride it every day, given Suzuki component finish quality, it might be a different story - but I've got a £200 car to do that job ......

Paying cash is one thing, borrowing to do it something quite diferent ..... If the bike was costing me £Xhundred pounds a month to sit there depreciating my thought process might be slightly different .... repaymants @ say £250/month, depreciation of say £4k over 3 years = £120/mth, and you've already talked about riding gently to save fuel costs etc., hwy have a bike like that only to have to scrimp and save on running costs which in the end will marr the overall riding experience

Still, as has been said, your money / debt, so your choice

I'm thinking of a Gixer 750/1000 (along with other things(this has just made me think of a new topic))for next bike. Ment to be the muts nuts. Personally the only thing I'd borrow money for is a house, but that's up to you.

Well over the last 12 months we have had a 4 stage wage increase that as made life easier for me. Like anything in life it would mean i would have to put a tight lease on my out goings.

The only thing that is bothering me is the crap px they are offering for mine. £3000/£3500 on a 54 plate. Its cause its done 17,000 miles.

Selling it private is such hard work
