Don't know if it's anyone on here, but thanks to the 2 guys in West Bay, that kinda helped me out a little and noticed my bikes running temperature of 103
Basically my bike died today (battery / electrical somewhere), anyway it decided it wanted to start again, and then they realised my electric fan wasn't cutting in, hence the stupidly high temperature.

Anyway enough waffle, thanks if you visit here, if not this will make no sense to anyone LOL

anyways, you were brave venturing out today, its been a bit shitty.

I have no idea ? It started coughing and spluttering near Beaminster and the rev counter and speedo were randomly bouncing around making no sense whatsoever, all was fine until i got to West Bay and then it died turning into the car park.
Tried starting it and nothing (ie dead), and then it randomly started and thats when we noticed the high temperature, got home OK though

My fans wouldn't even start coming on until 103 at least ;)

You reckon that's normal then ? How much longer should i leave it before it kicks in ?

Mine start at 105 degrees and they will stay on until it gets below 103 again.

What year is the bike?

I would run it up and check it, if it gets to 110 then switch it off. They run a pressurised system, and the proper coolant means boiling point is over 115 degrees.

It's a 1998 CBR900

My fan only kicks in at 105 too, cuts out again at 99. Only problem is that it causes the engine to expand which exasperates my low compression problem.

You could have a dodgy conection. I would check the battery terminals cos they can come loose. I usualy put a small dab of thread locker on the bolts.
