thinking of buying an r1 will be using it for long distance and the odd sun blat the question is will it be:
a. comfortable
b. practicable
c. give me no worries ie mech snags!
i know that unless you have a wing or something like that then it wont be comfortable i just want to know is it possible to sit in an R1 or is it like the ZX10R where you sit on it. If you know what i mean.

to be honest, with a decent set of adjustable rear sets most bikes are comfortable when you set them to the position you want, id rather have the r1 for long distance runs, less irratic!

funny rab most people say its the other way round, that the r1's a comfortable bike that likes the bite of a litre bike where as the zx10 is quite focused demanding bike. ive only ridden my mates 05r1so cant compare the 2 but i did find the r1 quite a comfy spacious bike.

I've toured, scratched and tracked on sports bikes and never had a problem. I've seen mates get off the bike after a days riding and suffer. Its all down to the individual.
Doing a 2500 miler round spain next march on an R1 and I have no qualms about that at all. Its all down to personal preference etc just like most other things in biking.
Whatever you choose I wish you the best of luck with it. Ring its fekkin neck!

i found the K5 had no room, felt like the pegs were higher and the seat was lower so pushed my knees higher up the tank
so got that cramped feeling
