Thats a b*gger :(

To be honest, it'll either have been taken out the area, be converted to a track bike, or be in a load of bits on e-bay soon

Try a trawl around all the shops in the area with a "wanted" poster ...... but don't hold out much hope. Good Luck !

Unlucky mate, my uncle had his bike stolen outside his front door. He now locks his new bike round the back of the house!

Get in contact with police and claim off your insurance. They normally take 2 weeks just in case it turns up. They hardly do, as people have already said, quite a few get broken up, bits are sold and the bike is tracked or shipped or other bits scrapped.

It is wrong for the guys to do that to your new bike but prevention is the only thing you can do.

Do you have a garage, if not can you park it round the back of the house? Can you get a ground anchor and an abus chain connected to it? Have you got any flood lights on sensors?

You can get a 2 way alarm fitted that beeps you if you bike alarm goes off if you are in the house. My brother had that on his scooter and when i touched his bike when i parked my bike it woke him up!

Another thing that i am doing even though my bike is not worth much is storing it a garage of an elderly relative that i don't go over on the bike with. I am storing my bike there over winter and I have chained it up, put a few extra locks on and also put it in a garage where it can only be opened from the outside. Nobody except myself and insurance company knows the bike is there, my nan has probably forgotten the bike is in her garage!

Unfortunatly I have no garage and no access to the back of my house but the two way alarm sounds a good shout.

My naibourgh had allready said I could keep it in his garage that has an anchor when it came to the winter. But the f**kers got to it before I had given up on the weather.

Thanks to everyone for your support.

about 3 months old with just over 1k miles

If you had all the mods declared to the insurance company then you can expect to get a little bit more payed out because of the mods. But if not then they won't give you a penny more.

sorry to hear about your loss, the theifing scums make me sick.i hate to say it mate but they wont pay out for the extras on a theft claim.i had the extras covered on my cbr and my 916 and they only payout on a accident as its cheaper for them to replace aftermarket parts than standard, if its stolen its your loss.
after doing some research this weekend and whilst were talking about insurance your road bikes arent covered for theft if on a trailer or van being transported to racing or trackdays so if its stolen report it as stolen from home. might help a few of you when renewing your insurance next time round
