Posted: Oct 16th, '07, 19:51
Anyone else going on the Ride for Rights 2007 protest ride this saturday (20th oct)
Start: 20 Oct 2007
End: 20 Oct 2007
Join our mass rideout to celebrate motorcycling and take a stand against road pricing for bikes.
Bikes Go Free! Say No to Road Pricing for Bikes
What is Ride for Rights 2007?
A well-organised ride for bikes only through central London, escorted by the Metropolitan Police
Conveying a festival atmosphere but with a strong political message
To develop into an annual event at the same time each year
Ride starts from Wembley Stadium 1pm (but please be there in good time beforehand - we'll do our best, but there may be queues!)
Ride ends at Whitehall c3pm
Why join the Ride?
To call on the Government for a national exemption for bikes in all UK road pricing schemes: more here
To make the more general point that bikes are here to stay
To fight recent calls from Transport 2000 and other interest groups to restrict bikes' power, weight and speed
To celebrate the positive aspects of motorcycling
To raise funds for motorcycling charities: more here
To have a fun day out
more info can be found here http://rider-connect.co.uk/index.php?q=node/1204
