Another Hi from Teignmouth !!

Post by Chiddy »

I'm cheating here and cut and paste my intro from the Kawasaki ZX9R Forum
http://www.zx-9r.net/phpBB2/index.php

Forum name :- Chiddy

Real name :- Chiddy

Age :- Too old to ride a Ninja

Occupation :- Traffic Clerk - TNT, Exeter

Lives :- In the deep south - Teignmouth, Devon, 5 mins walk from the beach

Marital Status :- No - Old & still single

Explain your forum name :- Nick name from school and never lost it

Which bikes do you ride and why? :- ZX9R Ninja - Model 'B' for BEST ZX9R.
Bought the bike on eBay when I only went on there to buy a crash helmet to be able to ride pillion on my mates bike on BMAD ride-outs. Donna my partner and her son Andrew had just bought a 125cc bike each and egged me on. I said I wouldn't be able to buy one cause I want something about 900cc or over and I would only spend £2000 tops and you won't get anything for that. They said I would and the 1st bike for 2 grand on eBay was my now ZX9R with no bids and a couple of hours to go, so I bid assuming I would be outbid and that would shut them up. I WON IT !!. So now I have bought a bike I like the look of and haven't a clue what it is, so I spent the next couple of hours on the internet finding out exactly what I had bought. I have only had one other bike before about 20 years ago which was a beast called a Honda CBX, a chunky 1200cc, 6 cylinder jobbie. So now here I am in my early 50's and I now have to collect it from Birmingham the following Sunday morning and ride it back to Devon. A mate of mine took me up there in his car and I rode back with just 2 stops to unsieze my legs, and as it was only about 7 o'clock in the morning and being Sunday the M5 was really quite, so after a while on it and a clear motorway ahead took it gently up to 160 MPH, and I have to say it is the best toy I have ever had. I just hope my old bones hang in there cause I'd hate to get rid of it, especially as Donna and Andrew are taking their full bike tests within the next couple of weeks and Andrew (21), is already looking at buying a ZX6R Ninja.

Which cars do you drive and why? :- Golf GTi - Not in your face but goes like s*@t when you want it and holds the road like glue

Are you really passionate for ZX9R’s? :- I am now I know what it is

What or how started your passion for ZX9R’s :- An accident on eBay - (Read bit above)

Would you ever consider joining a ZX9R’s/Kawasaki Club or are you already a member of one? :- Maybe & no

What do you like most about ZX9R’s. :- It's a hooligans machine !!

What do you like least about ZX9R’s? :- Green, but hey you can't have everything in life

What would be your dream Bike/car? :- I have always had cars and only 2 bikes so a tastefully customised R32 golf and not knowing that much about bikes, I like the look of the Ducatti's.

What bike would you least like to ride? :- Any bike that kept throwing me off

Any humorous ZX9R’s or bike-related stories you wish to share with us? :- See 'Which bikes do you ride and why?'

What interests do you have outside of ZX9R’s? :- Watching Bike, Car & Drag Racing - Photography when I get round to it.

If you had £50,000 you had to spend in 72 hours, how would you choose to spend it? :- Jack Daniels & Jim Beam, the Woman in my life and partying, and squander the rest.

Welcome matey.

9R good choice,

Now you’ve tried the B, your next bike should be a C model - last of the carb models.
Better performance and best looking.

Got some C bits when you've changed
