Police say they are concerned about a rise in bicycle thefts across Caradon in the past few months.

Crime reduction officer Dave Shepherd said Torpoint and Liskeard were hotspots, predominantly in town, with front and rear gardens a favourite target.

"I'd advise owners to have the necessary security in place and lock their bikes away when not in use", he said. "Property-mark your bicycles and consider cycle locks, alarms and chains as appropriate.

"These can usually be obtained from cycle shops but if anyone has difficulty or requires further advice they can contact me."

He can be reached at Liskeard police station on 01579 325462
