Either way, he'll struggle to hold on to his job ....... as Jason said, it's not the original crime that he will be punished for the most. If he'd just held up his hand and admitted the fault, he would probably have got a bit of a slap to set an example, a moment of infamy in the local press, and life would carry on. A couple of truths here - makes you wonder what would have happened (or not happened) if the speed trap was being operated by another copper rather than a 'camera operative'.
Alot to loose rather than pay a £60 fine.
