This is for some people who shall remain nameless....Simon! Maybe handy for the track, plus its not just about knee down, body position helps cornering quite a bit.

Theres also:

one good tip is to look through the corner towards the exit as that will put your body position in the way you want to go,if that makes sense ???

I've seen the MCN guide before. I like the other guide, especially the wheelie part, now i can learn to do that too, i was doing the clutch completely wrong.

strange that it doesnt mention foot position,
I would say the reason many people struggle to knee down on a track (where your naturaly leant over a long way anyway so its the easiest place to do it) is often as simple as they are trying to twist there knee out without moving their foot back on the peg. You need to be back on the peg with your almost your just your toes on the peg that way you can pivot around on the peg and the heel plate doesnt obstruct you - alot of the movement/twisting required for knee down is through the foot/ankle
if your trying to drag your knee and find you are skimming your toe sliders before you get your knee down then your foot positioning is wrong

Wow I had that wrong! I had the upper body positioning right and my feet in the right place but I wasn't sat on the bike properly. What a difference! Before I was still scratching every now and again (but then I'm 6"4 so it wasnt exactly a challenge) but now its every corner

Where do I get hard wearing sliders from?
Thanks for the informative post.

....heres a pic that shows decent foot position quite clearly (lame excuse to post a pic of my beautifull self

)
You can see that at a lesser lean as well as hanging off slightly more pushing your knee out would be quite heavilly controlled through twisting your foot. so if your foots in the wrong position its going to be difficult.

So your knee should go down before your peg?

in an ideal world your peg should never go down (This is the point of rearsets) I run rearsets set quite back and up, if my pegs touched down then no way would I be staying on.
hondas and kwaks with stock footpegs have stupidly long hero blobs on some of their sports bikes, personally Id take them off, because you dont have to be leant over that much to touch them down. Some bikes just have there standard pegs set to low and its way to easy to grind the pegs - its just a limitation of some bikes.
obviously the above is only reffering to sports bikes.

Bandit

, right hand peg takes a battering on nearly every ride now

, left probably wont be much longer. Unfortunately I cant afford rearsets for it!
