BSB same old, same old
Is it just me or does anyone else thing BSB is geting a bit predictable now? At least when the Ducatis were 999cc the racing was more entertaining. 200cc is too much. Think of it this way, the governmant think that you shouldn't be able to ride anything bigger than a 125 before passing a test, just to put things in perspective.

Re: BSB same old, same old
theres no difference to this year and last, its still a hm plant/airwaves cup with the rest not upto scratch
the difference this year is shakey and not the bike, also crutchlow and haslam arent having the consistency or luck that rea and kiyo had,im sure shakey will have some bad luck soon and then people will be saying its interesting.
this is not a defence of ducati, just the way i see it. as ive said in another post the ducati isnt running away with at wsbk level as the yamahas and gsxrs are a lot more competitive than they are and have been at bsb level
mike, dont understand the 125cc quote as you can drive a ferrari at 17 if daddys got enough money

Re: BSB same old, same old
Maybe they should take away all the aid gadgets
100% riders skill then
also like Chris Walker said why didn't ducati used there 1098cc instead of making a 1198cc
i can see this thread going on for a while

Hey Deej you on here 24/7
it might make a difference cos the airwaves and hmplant bikes would have to be a bit careful out of the bends so maybe wouldn't be able to use 100% of its power/torque
might make closer racing dunno

Re: BSB same old, same old
nope, just the last 15mins. have been on more normal as im off work on the sick
i doubt it'll make much difference as the 2 teams have dominated bsb for the last 10yrs between them apart a couple of seasons in the middle when they were playing at wsbk.gse were winning back in 99 and 00 with bayliss and hodgson, then renegade took over until rizla broke up the party but since then its been factory hondas and ducatis winning with the odd privateer win. the rizla bikes of the last few years just havent been good enough to be consistently up there

Re: BSB same old, same old
what like the 675 triumph leading the supersport having the extra 75cc or is it down to the fact that glen richards is the best man out there ???

Re: BSB same old, same old
had another though this morning, and yes it did hurt
anyone paid much attention to the r1 cup this year, all even bikes just basically a r1 with cans/power commander/rearsets/slicks to level the field out and how boring has it bee. watched it live at thruxton and it was so strung out and the races ive seen on tele havent been close either. so if its not working at the level will it work at bsb level ?

Re: BSB same old, same old
why do you want to remove all electronic aids?
I dont want to go back to points on my bike. I like electronic ignition.
The whole point of racing is to be the fastest. As someone else has already mentioned, if you want to see evenly based racing then watch the single series make racing. I do and its excellent.
I also like to watch the best bikes with the best riders. If that means they need electronic throttle control or steering dampers to go faster then why not.
I bet not one of the complainers could even hold enough heat in the slicks to make them work properly.
Can we start a poll on here? At what point do people think innovation should be halted? Electronic ignition? Electronic throttle control? Suspension telemetry recording? Electronic Steering dampers? Slipper clutches?
I know, why dont we stop them wearing protective equipment? No lids or leathers eh. That will slow the buggers down alright!
I do think that Ducati are taking the wee with the extra 200 cubes though.

Re: BSB same old, same old
TOMR61 you stumpled on a good point there.
I have always been in favour in getting rid of electronic aids but where do we exactly draw the line.
Ok its easy to say get rid of
1
Launch control
2
Traction Control
3
Adjustable mapping on track
But as we all know electronics can dig alot deeper then these obvious ones. You can't deny that electronics have taken a bit of spice out the sport
F1 seem to be solving it
Well it looks that way
Oh and whats wrong with havin points back in our distrubitors ?? Pre 1990 i could more or less get a car started on the road side, since then i got no chance hence why i gave it all up

Re: BSB same old, same old
Hmmm
Hear are my thoughts.
They say that the Ducati has an advantage but has anyone noticed that the GSXR and the Honda are actualy the faster bikes.
The Ducati comes into its own towards the end of the race because it does not wear the tyres out so hard because it's a twin, which means that the tyres rest between the firing pulses.
Did anyone complain back in the day when the YZF 750 won the championship 3 times in a row with Macenzie (spelling) on board ?
My personal feeling is that Ducati have the complete package ! Shakey was bloody quick on the old 998 !
