Greetings and at last something to look forward to!

Hey all. I've lived almost all my life (19 years) in Switzerland, and last year I moved to Bath for University. Well, after 4 years of painful waiting, I've finally bought my dream bike. Just bought a Yamaha R6 2008 :D. Picking her up in August. My final step up from 4 years ago when I started with a simple 50cc scooter :D. Moved onto a 250cc Yamaha Tricker for a while and then rented a FZ6 for a few trips.

I can't even begin to explain how happy I am about finally getting my R6. Anyway, coming from Switzerland, I'm all about rideouts :). I'm sure it will be hard to beat a day trip in the Alps, but looking forward to finding some new routes in the South West of England.

I'm hoping I'll be able to meet some like-minded people on the site who live nearby. Obviously I would still technically consider myself a pretty inexperienced rider, so I'm not looking for any hardcore racing. For me motorbikes are all about the freedom and the ride.

Take care and drive safe.

hi and welcome to the mad house

if you want mountain climbs you'll have to ride into wales and around the brecon beacons,so wished i was on the bike and not in the car this week when i was working up there.

I actually chose to go to Bath University because of the hills and roads. I knew I was going to get a bike so I had to choose a University near some nice country side :D. Sorted now.

Cheers for the welcome all. Take care and drive safe. :)

I'm up in bristol from august as well, always up for a ride. I think speedy said he was up for leading a blast along the cheddar gorge sometime

Sounds good mate. A few bikers I met last year told me that it's a pretty decent run. This is probably one of the only times where I am annoyed to be on holiday. Bikes in Bristol; I'm in Switzerland... Combine the two and it's paradise.. Sadly we are separate!
