Stranded HELP!

Post by Redlight »

Anyone know how to disarm a Datatool system 3 at the roadside???

I got a lift home with my son, but the bike is stuck in Torquay. It is not the transmitter as I have a replacement, but the F**king thing will not disarm....
Any ideas??

it happened to mine, datatool vito evo, kept on going off, think it was the ignition fuse on the bike, replaced it and all worked fine after that.

Had the same problem with mine
Have you parked it near a mobile phone mast 8) try pushing it down the road leave it for a while then try starting it :?
I even called out rac they stripped all the panels but couldn't do anything as it is wired into the loom :x
I had mine removed and had a trakker fitted instead :D

Thanks for all your help. The fuses are all ok. I have just been back to the bike and after setting the alarm off a couple of times it re-set and I was able to start it as normal. This is the second time the immobiliser has left me stranded, if I can find out how to remove it....it is comming off.

Thanks once again.

Same old story folks, Alarms are a f*cking pain in the arse. Who needs them? if they want your bike they will take it.

Bleedin alarms ain't worth the hassle and plus they add extra weight too

As if i would notice

The bike is either locked in the garage or I am sitting on it. I will have a word with Speed tomorrow and see what the score is.

Thanks once again Colin....

Had it removed today.......£60 and no change to my insurance premium.

Having read so many forums to find an answer to the problem, I dont belive it is anything to do with telehone masts, but more to do with a faulty motion detector. On two occasions I got it to re-set by rocking the bike back and forward to set off the alarm and was then able to disarm it in the normal manner. Unfortunatly I have little patience with anything unreliable and could not be bothered replacing the motion sensor. The Datatool system 3 is now in a bin and I will be selling the remotes on ebay.......well its a tank of gas at least.

Thanks once again to all that responded.

On a trip to the alps last year the only snaggs we had with the (5) bikes was 2 datatool alarms, one triumph badged one went loopy and killed the engine on a motorway

my datatool 3 wouldn't dissarm at the petrol stations and peage's on the way down, it gradually got worse through the day. the first time it wouldn't dissarm for a minute or so, next time was for a couple of minutes, next time was longer then longer untill I wouldn't let it arm, it was a right PITA.

the next morning it was fine and has never given me the same problem since :?
