Just cleaned the terminals and leaving it on charge overnight. But as lights etc are working thought it's prob something else.

Stick multimeter on it with ignition on
then stick it over while cranking the bike, see what voltage your getting under load, could still mean the battery cant cope to start it as its a huge pull compared to lights etc.
Thought about bridging the starter to make sure its still turning?

its the battery. Bulbs take a tiny amount of power to work where as a starter is a greedy bugger. I'd be a bit concerned however if it has just dropped off and died, especially just before a joni journey. If a cell is on it's way out then charging it might give you a couple of starts but it could die at any time. Best get a new one then check the charging voltage and make sure its within specified range. Have a good trip.

Have a good trip

I arrived back from Dubrovnik after a round trip of 3700 miles last sunday and it was brilliant

If you have nowhere to stay in Dubrovnik yet suggest you stay In Cavtat (South of) and then take the boat into the old town

When you get into Croatia do not not under any circumstances deviate from the coast road its brilliant especially the Celce bit too Zadar (be careful as the signs might try and take you inland about 50 miles from Zadar)

Travel across from Italy at Trieste as the roads through Slovenia are back roads and do not incur the charge of 17 Euro's

Check out my blog at http://stx1300.blogspot.com

I wish I could be more helpful but I am in 10 mins leaving for a weekend away but you are more than welcome to email me direct if you need more info

Regards

Peter
