2200 miles later
. Been up to Scotland, the Lakes, Peaks, Knock Hill everywhere!
Left last Friday, rode up to Uttoxeter for a classic bike show, which was pretty good, except for the ex patch club members that kept tagging on to us lol. Bike show was pretty good, I want an old skool Katana now!
From there we rode to a place near Knock Hill and stopped there the Saturday night. Went up the A68, which has so many peaks in the road its like a roller coaster! Got airbourne a few times
. Stopped off on the Scottish border, stunning scenery
.
Then we went to see Knock Hill BSB etc on the Sunday. What a day, so much better than watching it on the tele! Saw quite a few crashes close up! Was a beautiful day too. Ears were ringing after mind, they're all sooooo loud!
On the Monday we rode across to Fort William, with the intention of walking up Ben Nevis. The weather was appalling though
. Got soaked, rode through a thunderstorm and several flooded roads. So got to Fort Bill and carried on back up to Inverness, on some good (but wet) roads.
Stopped overnight in a bnb that night at Inverness, everything was too wet to consider camping. Next day rode up the East coast to John O Groats
. Good weather, if a bit windy. Roads were pretty awesome too! Then rode across the North coast, took in some stunning scenery and non stop good roads, until they turned to single track
. Then we turned south and ended up in Kyle of Lochalsh or something, near the Isle of Skye. Set up camp.
The next day on a friends reccomendation we rode down to For William again. AWESOME!!!!! Scenery was amazing, roads were PERFECT, dry, grippy, deserted! Loads of corners, etc. THE best road in the UK that I have ridden. Then went East again over the Cairngorms, again loads of good roads! If its got gates across it to close off in bad weather its got to be good. The rode down to the Lakes.
Had a bimble round, destroyed by tourism. Roads were good on the rare stretch that they were quiet. Went over to the Peaks, did the Cat and Fiddle! Good road, alot shorter than I expected. First half was very nice though!
Thats bout it really, just got back! Proper knackered, was putting in nearly 400 miles on a few days!
