SuperSkin Helmet - Well Worth A Look!!!

Well, i was reading the paper in my break today, and i came accross a very interesting article about a new type of helmet that has been developed called the 'SuperSkin' helmet.

Reading more and more of the article, it dawned upon me what a truley simply, superb idea this was - and i will be investing in one if i can.

Basicly when the human head collides with a solid surface - such as if you fall over, or fall agaisnt a wall - your skin hits the surface first - this allows your skull to turn. If your skin was not there, then your skull would not turn, and instead your brain would rotate inside your skull resulting in brain damaged or death. This is the basis for the idea of the superskin - its a membrain that goes around the outside of the helmet. When the helmet collides with a solid surface, the membrain on the outside of the helmet will allow the helmet itsself to turn - thus keeping the brain in its correct position within the skull. Without this the helmet is directly in alignment with the skull, so if the helmet simply stopped on a surface so would the skull - meaning the brain turns inside the skull.

I think this is an amazing development in motorcycle saftey - bloody well done to the inventor of it - because i think with such a simply idea he has already saved many lifes - not just from death but also from severe head traumas!! I know where ill be looking for my next helmet!

Nice simple idea. Probably wont help too much with impact but should help prevent rotational forces.
