selling your bike in europe?

Anybody here had experience of selling there motorcycle privately abroad?

Ive currently got my R6 up for sale, but i noticed that in parts of europe, it'd be selling for around 6-6,500 Euro's in comparable condition. Here in the U.K i'd be very, very lucky to get £5000 for it. A potential £1000 or more isnt to be sniffed at right now. Even if that means riding it over there.

I know that, to sell in france would not be worthwhile with all the engine work you have to do to get the bike down to the 100bhp limit. And Germany they have funny rules too.

Any info anyone?? Ive trawled about online but havent found anything yet.

I worked in finland and was shocked at the huge price difference too. There are huge import duties based on a percentage of the market value of the vehicle.

Some EU states maybe ok to sell to but would not recommend those with import duties as it is a false economy.

When I mean import I mean import and register with a finnish number plate.
