Ok boys abd girls... Who has an opinion here. After trashing the mighty Red rocket at Pembrey a while ago, it's crunch time... CBR or Daytona 675. Answers on a post card please. Oh ok, on this forum will do.
ANyone have any real points to make for and or against either bike. Be interested to hear... Also, maybe bit of vanity but can you ge union jack head fairings for the newer 675's or do the older 675 headairings fit the new ones???
I'm leaning towards the 675 just now but open to suggestions.

Totally agree, will keep the world posted where I end up... Can see me having the 675 but really looking for advice about either bike for or against. Test riding this next weekend back to back to get a real feel for them. May even be sneeking a razz on the gsxr750 but not so enthused by anymore cc's really. Scare myself enough on a 600 sports machine. Am I being a big girl??

Never ridden either, so this is a little tongue in cheek, but if the bike is going to be cosseted, kept in a nice dry garage, washed after every ride, and generally pampered, then buy whichever floats your boat.
If you want a bike that'll live outside, or be ridden in all weathers, and perform just the same whatever you throw at it, starting everytime you press the button come what may, and still look reasonable when you come to get rid, it pains me to say it but there's only one option of the two you give - the Honda

depends what you want it for really
everyday use the honda for reliability
looks wise i'd say the triumph
track wise its a tough call, the 675 has better low down grunt and the cbr has a higher top end, atleast that was the way it was in almeria in may hence my decision to go back with a cbr6rr next month rather than the 675 i'd have liked.
the cbr is a more than capable bike and a early model can be picked up for not a lot of money these days

Thank you for those comments guys... I'm not a hardy all weather rider to prove a point but don't moth ball the thing over winter. It's test ride time this weekend, will be off to George Whites at the weekend, prob sat to test ride back to back.
They (who ever 'they' are) have always said about honda reliability but that some how just doesn't carry the same sex appeal and all sounds a bit unadventurous. However is nice to know the thing will always start and stand the test of time. Can see a european track day coming on next year to, which ever I go for.
Then of course, once the bike has been decided on there's the all important 'what colour'... decisions decisions, it's hard work this biking millarky but a boy has to look good.. the stress is amazing, there's only one thing to do and that's get out and thrash the bloody thing to an inch of it's life on the back wheel. any volunteers to teach a muppet to wheely, deliberatley and in control.... haha.
Keep y'all up to date as decisions are made...

Obviously I'm biased but I think you've made the right choice. I can see where the others are coming from when they say about the CBR's reliability as my Dad had one for a few years and it never let him down once. Only had my 675 since April this year so can't compare them but so far had no problems at all touch wood.
As for the ride - superb! I personally love it but some people have told me it's an acquired taste. Like you said, it will pull instantly in any gear and is so easy to throw around! Also, I have an '09 and I'm pretty sure you can get the union jack fairing decals for mine but don't quote me on that.
Anyway, great choice of bike. Great looks, great fun and best of all - it's British!

Most sports bikes are way better than us riders. They are all pretty reliable too. So just
get whichever one fits your pocket and you like the look of most. Simples
