I finally have my scooter, Now the guy originally wanted me to pick the bike up and ride it home, but I didn't have insurance or anything till this morning, also there is no tax disk on the bike, he has told me that as long as I have paid for the tax disk on line then I can still ride the bike fine up until the tax disk arrives as long as it is in the system as paid? can anyone clarify this, just its bank holiday, the bloke decided to deliver it after 1230 and post offices shut, I am unsure whether I can use the bike or not yet?
thanks in advance!

Technically, there is the issue of not having a valid tax disc displayed, but as said so long as you have paid on-line, you are taxed.
I have certainly ridden in exactly the same circumstances

thank you, I did google it and all I found was
The first of the changes has come about because DVLA has found that towards the end of the month, many motorists taxing their vehicle online or by phone do not complete the transaction when they realise that their tax disc may not be received in time for the 1st of the following month. As a result, from the 1st of September 2008, those buying their vehicle tax online, by phone or by post will be able to legally continue to drive their vehicles for up to 5 days while they wait for their new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply where the new tax disc has been applied for before the current one expires and motorists should continue to display the expired disc on their vehicle, until the new one arrives.
but I dont even have an old one to display

realistically what sort of distance will the scooter be travelling?
i personally would be tempted to ride the thing home as you are technically taxed.
the issue of not dispalying a disc is minor as i have known people who have kept the disc under their seat for security purposes as they are a bit light fingered in london.
if you are pulled over the copper would have to be in a bad mood to try and do you for not displaying.
just my PERSONAL thoughts.

Eh
Are you talking road no.s or have you been at the sunday communion wine again?
And if its road no.s then I'm useless at that too, ask Graham how often I look blankly when he's telling me about various B roads no. etc etc etc....
