With lots of guys going to Donington on 9th and Silverton on 14th, I’m under press to book these up.

With a big chance of them being cold, frosty, windy and nights drawing in is it worth it.

Now firstly I don’t mind the wet and they aren’t very much money but I don’t want to ruin a good year.
I’ve just tallied it up (Trackdays and Endurance events) and just noticed how much I have done (got away with) this year.

Almeria
Magny Cours
Silverstone
Cadwell
Nurburgring
Cadwell
Pembrey
Malory
Cartagena

So I don’t feel I’ve missed out but if they have a good day and there is a good crowd going to both, will I wish I’d gone or am I just being greedy...

Why have'nt you booked yet

im with you too a degree mate

yes its cold, yes its windy, yes it gets dark for the drive home

but fook it, its time on track and a laugh with mates

better to have a bad on track than a good day in the office

Hard to say in the winter, you can still get very dry nice 10+ degree days. Besides, early Nov isnt exactly Jan/Feb when it can be very iffy.

Biggest downside would be if it does rain it'll take so much longer to dry, no worries for you fancy pants people with wets.

for me it is.......if i go it'll rain or snow

if i don't..... you lot will have the best trackday ever on the hottest, driest November day since records began

when ever i go to trackdays it's always either horizontal rain, fog, or gale force gusts.

well i have just got round to putting all the lights back on the zx after pembury so i think it's a yes from me.

I'm surprised you need to ask Layne!!

When you say 'got away with' do you mean a) weather b) not crashing or c) the wife??

Although the Endurance riders had 3. Don’t mind that. Gives me something to do and doesn’t hurt.

A, well did have some in the morning at Cadwell and Malory. Which was nice.

If you could be lucky enough to get a day like today, then I'd say do it!!!

and then try not to 'B' and upset the 'C', lol!

I love winter track days because they're cheap, they can surprise you weather wise, they're rarely fully booked and from my experience the idiots rarely turn up for the winter days.

One of the best td's I've ever done was the day after boxing day at Donington about four years ago.
My track day buddy bottled it last minute because they gave snow but I still went.

It was 4 degrees but clear blue skys all day and only 17 people in the fast group and it only cost me £69!

If you book a No Limits track day and the circuit cancel it because of snow or ice, you get your money back which has happened to me in the past.

Bit of advice for you though.
If your planning on making a habit of winter track days by a Jonny Jacket and some wets!

Took me a very long time to get my head around the idea of riding with wets but once you've got it, WOW, bring on the rain while everyone else sits in the garage looking fed up while you get the track all to yourself!
