Hello, my name is Jennifer Fielden, I am doing an A level in product design and I am going to be designing a specialist camera for motorbikes, for people who ride individually on track days. So this questionnaire will help me find out what people want from a motorbike camera and would appreciate it if you would take your time and fill it in.


Q1.How often do you go on track days with your motorbike?
More than once a week
More than once a month
More than once a year

Q2. How long do you use your motorbike for everyday riding?
Less than an hour
1-2 hours
2-3 hours
4+

Q3. Do you capture the experience of the day as photographs or film?
Yes

do we get to test this camera when you have come up with it ?

do you know there are perfectly good motorbike video cameras available from Hong Kong, good quality, easy to use, durable, easy to hide :wink: and very cheap ? all that for less than £10 delivered !

Yes /The Gopro is a specialist camera not specific to bikes but for sports etc

Video /yes

Q8.Where would be the best place to put the camera?
Handlebars Options to be able to fix the camera in different positions would be best
Helmet
The biker’s body
Above the front wheel
Above the back wheel

Q9. What make is your motorbike? Honda

Q10. What brands do you buy your accessories from for your motorbike? Where ever and whatever it needs

Q11. What price range would you be willing to pay suitable for a motorbike camera?
£.10-£40
£50-£80
£90-£150
£160+ Paid £250ish for the GoPro and all the fixings

Q12. What functions would you want? Name as many as you would want.
Anti vibration
Waterproof
Ease of use, possibly while wearing bike gloves
Damage resistant
Simple design
Small and compact
Good fixing to either bike or rider
The GoPro can suffer from wind noise

If I think of anything else Ill add more

TBh the cheap chinese stuff is good enough quality for what most of us need maybe bar a little less wind noise, the Go Pro is a fantastic piece of kit and well worth its money. You only need to see what its used for to realise its worth, the ken block gymkana videos are filmed using one, ive seen them on macau tt bikes and various tv shows so theyre hard to beat. Base your research around bettering one of them and you might be onto a winner...
