Hi

Wasn't sure where to post this so please move it if it's wrong!

I'm looking to get some stubby brake/clutch levers for my 2008 R6. I'm told they're easy to fit and the main reason for getting these is that they look pretty cool

Oh, also the 'heavy metal' ones that are currently standard give me RSI as I only use one finger for braking. The stubby ones look lighter. Has anyone used these or have any feedback?

Also, if anyone knows of any decent upgrades for the R6 e.g slipper clutch etc, let me know. I'm also told there aren't many as the bike is already built close to race spec??

U can get Titax replicas off ebay for about £30 I've had them on 4 different bikes and they're just as good as the real ones. Easy to fit etc 5 mins. Take a bit off getting used to though..

the chinese ones just as good tom?, ive been looking at shorty levers, was gunna get some pazzo's for £110 but if the chinese ones are just as good i may be tempted, quite a saving

The Chinese levers are exact replicas of Pazzo's. We've had them on the SP1, 636 and now the R1, perfect fit everytime. You'd be silly to spend out £100+ on a pair of levers.

Yeh theyre awsome mate. I have them on my 636 now. Although, if you're gonna get them then i'd reccomed getting the titanium coloured ones as the ones i had on my R6, the black started to rub off them after a few weeks but i think they were the reeeaally cheap ones. Deffo don't go spending loads on genuine's. I bought some real Titax's for my zx4 cost quite a bit, then had fake on my zx6 after the zx4 and couldn't tell any difference what so ever

i use the stubbys on my r1, propper stubby ones, two finger jobs.

i find them very easy to use, just have to remember to roll off the throttle when front braking as it's easy to try to keep throttle on whilst braking as you don't have to move your hand

Whilst the quality of the components manufactured in China has improved massively over the last 18 months in terms of both materials and finishing, the quality of the fasteners is still lamentably poor, threads are not cut precisely or cleanly in many cases. Personally anything I import from China has all the fasteners changed as a matter of course, I've just taken delivery of a Billet alternator cover for a Busa, which whilst being of very good quality in terms of materials and manufacture, the chrome was shiite, and the little packet of longer caphead hex bolts they sent with it were dreadful, I checked them with a thread guage and only two conformed to the correct pitch. I've got a couple of pairs of levers on their way to me as a sample, so I'll look at the quality of the fasteners when they arrive.

So are we saying Pazzo for build quality and Titax for cost?

i dont personally like using stubbys, my hands n fingers are too big for them. Have a try of a bike with stubbys on before spending your cash on something you may not like

titax,pazzo,asv are all very similar in quality its just the price that differs ;) ;)

No we're saying don't spent £100+ on Titax or Pazzo, buy the ones from eBay for £35

No point in spending more than 50 pounds on 'fancy' levers anymore..
