Testers beware

Instructor on another site has been royally pissed off today, because one of his students was refused his test, due to an e-mail sent to the testing centres stating adequate clothing must be worn for the test.
He wasn't so the test was refused, the law states a helmet, nothing more, so this is open to too much personal interpritation on behalf of the tester.
just a heads up for anyone testing after today

It sounds like the beginings of a back door attempt to make everyone wear CE approved bike clothing when riding. All the EU bullshit laws that are being brought in are slowly killing off personal choice. The anti tamper legislation being proposed would put lots of companies out of business overnight if it was brought in. Any modifications to the engine would be outlawed, putting many tuning shops out of business, and many parts suppliers out as well. This country needs to get out of the EU and take back control of our legislature.

Surely it's a bit like wearing a suit at a job interview - you may not wear one any other time but you do to make the right impression. Wear appropriate kit to pass your test, wear whatever you want after - common sense.
I bet the person involved turned up wearing trainers, jogging bottoms, hoodie & no gloves rather than a non-CE approved bike jacket.
