what you reckon folks
do other bikers judge you by the type of bike you have
reason i ask went out sunday morning on my blade ( i am still learning and by no means a fast rider )
notice if another sports bike appears behind you ,they seem to take any chance to get past you asap
but all other bikes seem happy just to bimble along with me

is it a ego thing or because you have a fast bike you have to ride fast

i go by...never underestimate anyone on anything,you could have,for example a guy/girl on a new zx10r and be totally owned on the rd by a guy/girl on a cr250 super moto .
i dont judge by the bike although i do wonder why some people have high end rockets and not a scoobys as to how to ride/use them??
thats just me and my opinion...but opinions are like a-holes,everyones got them ;)

I get pretty much ignored on Lottie (Hornet) tho she is quite capable of keeping up on fruity times..

BUT

On the rr....well every man and his dog (if they were to carry them too!) waves and nods, and even a bit of playtimes with 'some bird on a sportsbike' !!

Makes me laugh really, same bird, diff bike!!

i am apparently a hooligan, because all the rideouts i organise are 'heads down and arse up' blasts, i ride a sports bike, i do trackdays and have no consideration for other bikers/road users.


this is the opinion of admin on another site i am on, funnily enough, he has only been out with me twice, once on a friendly and once for a bimble with someother forum members.


everyone asumes that by the style of bike you know the rider - asumption is the mother of all fcuk ups

nope its not the bike its the attitude ! i have a problem to be honest even on a bimble this little voice gets louder and louder just saying well go on then,for gods sake give it some,for f**k sake GO ON !!! its gonna get me in trouble it aint big it aint clever but god help me its fun will never buzz another bike or hasstle it but if a play is on im there dont care wot you ride just happy to have a ride with you but if you are on a point and squirt bit of kit then use it lol.
my fz1 is a giggle does get well hoooned but seems to be quite quick and able to cope with it,no doubt im gonna end up on my arse at some point as the lack of chicken strips is warning me ! mind you have had it on the drift with Jayr6 and ninja Erick. well old enough to know better young enough not to care

I ride a ST1300 therefore I am ignored by all sports bike riders and most of the rest as well

I nod/wave to all bikers. I am used to be ignored

I nearly always stop for what looks like a broken down vehicle with two wheels

I ride about 30 thousand mile a year because I want to...I have a Pan that I have just retired that I took to 120 thousand miles from 10k that was on the bike when I bought it.

this week I have ridden my Pan to London and back Basingstoke and back twice and St Albans and back as well..No riding today but off to the Ogri Rally tomorrow for the weekend

No offence Gray, but it might be that they are just riding faster than you are so will pass you anyway, not that they are judging you for what you ride and expect you to follow them for a race etc.

When I'm out and about, if i come up behind another biker, regardless of what they are riding, if they are going slower than my pace at the time I will pass at the first possible chance ( though will usualy acknowledge them, unless I'm seriously concentrating ;) ) but if they are on the same pace as me I'll follow for a blast until our paths seperate !

Oh and I wave at everyone, from sports bikes to chops and even scooters, in the hope that they move up to bigger bikes rather than go the way of the corsa , Hell, I even wave at quads ;)

Il wave to anyone I judge people more on their gear than their bikes, if wearing jeans or shorts and t shirt with flipflops they get nout!!

It makes me cringe when I see a muppet only wearing a t-shirt and/or shorts, not gonna last very long like that Scooters are normally in that catagory as well so they dont get a nod lol.

I try and make an effort to acknoladge everyone else tho regardless of the bike, its up to them if they want to be an arrogent git and ignore you lol.

I quite often wear Just jeans trainers and t-shirt on my bike I quite like that fact that alot of people are pompous about it.

I rode without a lid abroad in unpredicable traffic (Sarejevo)...personally It felt unnerving but that doesnt mean Im gong to be judgemental about all the locals who chose to ride in shorts, flip flops and no lid. take your choice ride your bike and have fun.

If you do ride around in full race leathers on a modern litre sportsbike dont moan when someone wheelies past you with only inches to spare....present yourself like your on a racetrack and its niaive to think you arent inviting it.
